  • Assess the UKs future nuclear energy options- compare and contrast the viability of SMR vs large scale reactors
  • Discuss how SMRs can be commercialized and what potential funding options may be available to develop the future of the industry
  • Learn more about the potential areas for deployment of new nuclear reactors
  • Evaluate the development of the localization of the SMR supply chain across the UK and how you can become an industry leader
  • Get exclusive updates on timelines for potential deployment and how you can ensure are part of the UK’s nuclear renaissance

Why the Small Modular Reactor Summit 2015 will be pivotal to reaching your business development goals…

Building on the impressive success of five previous Small Modular Reactor conferences in the US, Nuclear Energy Insider is excited to announce the return of the thought leading SMR discussion with the Small Modular Reactor UK Summit 2015.

After researching the UK SMR and Advanced Reactor community with 60+ key executives and stakeholders the message was clear – you wanted:

  • An agenda that promotes direct discussion of the key challenges in SMRs that are beyond the technology
  • A close analysis of the potential for SMRs in the UK market with insight from government, industry bodies and nuclear experts
  • Clear promotion of ‘cathedral style’ thinking that looks at the road blocks to SMR commercialization and intelligently assesses the critical next steps

A note from your chairman:

Gordon Waddington
Rowan House Consultants Ltd

I would like to invite you to participate in the forthcoming UK Small Modular Reactor Summit facilitated by Nuclear Energy Insider, in London. The development of UK nuclear agenda is at a critical point, the country needs both large and small reactors in order to satisfy our countries future energy requirements and it has never been more important for the industry to come together with leading political and financial institutions to discuss the role SMR’s could play in the energy mix.

To my knowledge, this is the only UK based conference to focus specifically on assessing how to make SMRs a commercial reality. We are intending over two days to focus on the economic challenges, the issues of public acceptability, siting, licensing and how to build the SMR supply chain for the next generation of nuclear energy.

I will be chairing the event, over the two days I hope we can focus on the critical questions that need to be addressed if we are to successfully get Small Nuclear Reactors built in the UK. I hope to see you there.
